GETTING STARTED
Set up your RoamID tag
From claiming your tag to testing the Emergency Profile, follow these steps in order.
Before you start
Have your physical RoamID tag, its unique product code, the email address you want to use with RoamID, and the information you want to make available in an emergency. Have the details of at least one In Case of Emergency (ICE) contact ready.
THE SETUP JOURNEY
Complete setup in order
Claim your tag
Use the unique product code supplied with your tag to claim it. Claiming links the tag to your account but does not make your emergency information visible. Your information will only be available when you activate the tag.
If you already use RoamID, Setup will ask you to choose which existing Emergency Profile this tag is for before the tag is claimed.
Start setup (opens Setup in a new tab)If you already use RoamID and this tag is for someone else, make sure their Emergency Profile has been created before you start. If it hasn't, create it in Manage first, then return to Setup.
Create a profile in ManageChoose or confirm who the tag is for
After the tag is claimed, continue setup in Manage. It is not active and does not make Emergency Profile information visible.
For a new customer's exact first, never-active retail tag, choose whether it is for you or for somebody you are authorised to manage. If it is for you, continue setting up your own Emergency Profile.
If it is for somebody you manage, create or select their authorised managed Emergency Profile, then explicitly confirm that person for your first tag. This one-time first-tag choice is permanent.
If Setup selected an existing Emergency Profile before an established customer's additional tag was claimed, confirm in Manage that the selected profile is the intended person before continuing. The first-tag choice described above does not apply to an additional tag.
Complete the Emergency Profile
After confirming the correct Emergency Profile, complete the information you want to make available in an emergency: name, year of birth, blood type, conditions, medications, allergies and emergency notes.
For conditions, medications and allergies, choose one option for each: Not provided, None known or Listed. You won't be able to activate the tag until you've made a selection for each one.
Add ICE contacts
Add at least one In Case of Emergency (ICE) contact. When the tag is active, a responder can view the Emergency Profile and call the contact directly.
We recommend letting each person know you've listed them as an ICE contact and that their contact details may be visible through the active tag.
Review what a responder will see
When the tag is active, its Emergency Profile can be viewed by anyone with its unique web address. No sign-in is required.
Only include information you're comfortable making available in an emergency.
Confirm the information is current
After you've finished updating the Emergency Profile, confirm that you've reviewed it and that the information is current.
Saving changes and confirming the profile are separate steps. RoamID does not check or verify the information you enter.
Activate the tag
When you're ready, activate the tag in Manage. RoamID will check that all required setup steps are complete. If anything still needs attention, you'll be prompted before activation.
Until activation succeeds, the Emergency Profile is not available through the tag. Once activated, anyone with the tag's unique web address can view it.
Test the tag
Tap the tag with your phone and confirm it opens the correct Emergency Profile.
You can also open the QR code in Manage and confirm it opens the same profile.
Note: The setup QR and Emergency Profile QR are different. The setup QR supplied with your tag takes you through setup and activation. The QR code in Manage opens the same Emergency Profile as your tag.
